It Matters Ministries exists to help children develop a relationship with Jesus, learn about the Bible, and grow through their academic struggles. We serve children in Belize who face hardship, neglect, and educational gaps — because every child deserves safety, love, and to know they are seen.
Our story
A family rooted in Belize.
Founded by Kennedy Pound (now Kennedy Robles), It Matters Ministries grew out of decades of family ministry in Belize. Kennedy’s grandfather, Thomas Pound, served as a Nazarene missionary in Belize from 1973 to 2021 — nearly fifty years of relationships, language, and trust passed down through three generations.
That history shapes how we serve today. We don’t parachute in. We show up consistently, partner with local leaders, and build programs that are sustainable long after a visiting team goes home.

Daily supervision, academic support, small groups, enrichment, self-care education, and a safe environment for kids to grow.

Our afterschool work is grounded in Belize, but our vision reaches further — establishing self-sustaining programs led by trained local leaders in communities across Central America and the U.S.
